Having read your piece on greenfly eggs on apple trees, I decided to inspect my own young apple trees to find that many of them have the greenfly eggs around the buds.Can you recommend a spray for greenfly eggs that would not harm other beneficial insects and predators.I could let nature take its course and see if some predators will sort out the greenfly though this did not work last year and I had to resort to spraying the greenfly.

It is best to wait and see. Many ot the eggs might be killed by frost and not hatch. Watch when the leaves begin to expand. It is not necessary to spray unless there is a very heavy infestation.
