I have always grown veg like onions potatoes peas and such but now my hubby has concreted our garden for his boat , I can find info on growing a few toms and lettuce peppers but I miss eating peas fresh from the pod. Can you advise me if growing large veg in pots is possible and how do i go about it?

While it is possible with pots big enough, it can be tricky because pots dry out so quickly and most vegetables react badly to uneven water supply.
See about getting an allotment in your area, or perhaps a neighbour has garden space that they do not use.
