Growing lupins from seeds

geraldine kennedy asked 16 years ago

I recently acquired some lupin seed pods. Please advise re planting/caring etc. Do I have to open the pod and sow the seeds individually, or just sow the pod as a whole? Many thanks. Robin

Lupin seed pods should be hard and dry and either slighlty cracked open or crack easily when picked a tthe tip. The seeds should be dark brown.

They can be sown right away, in pots or seed trays spaced a few centimetres apart each way, or in the open ground in a fine seed bed.
