hedging again

Pat Doody asked 13 years ago

Escolina hedge that is bare and shows no sign of life at all, is there any hope or point in leaving it until mid summer to give it a chance? Or should i Just cut it down now before over taken with weeds. Also on another point if Laurel was planted is it ok to cut with hedge trimmers when established ? as heard of stories about burnt leaf effect when cut instead of pruned

Escallonia has been killed by frost.

Laurel can be clipped, don’t mind the secateurs story.
