Holly standard dying

Annette Hughes asked 14 years ago

My uncle is a keen gardener, and gave me a Holly standard last year that he trained himself. I didnt get to plant it in the Garden yet, but have noticed all the leaves are brown and dry. Its not looking very healthy and I dont know what it could be or what to do to save it. It about 4ft tall.

It has dried out at the roots. Plant it out rightaway and water once a week until there are signs of growth. It may be already too far gone.
