I have recently just purchased an evergreen clematis to climb up an outdoor metal staircase. I was wondering how to grow it well in a pot, I can not grow it in the ground as it is concrete.

Compared to years of watering and feeding, and ultimate failure due to lack of root space in the pot, it is a relatively easy matter to get someone to cut a hole in concrete with a kango hammer, fill with good soil and plant.
The hole need only be 25 to 30 cm square to give access to the soil below.
