Built a house in 2005 put lawns in 2006.Site is at top of slight hill, but site .6 of an acre is relativeely flat, land falls towards front. Mole drained the lawn area following fall of land. There still seems to be a flat area that remains wet. This area is at rear of house and I am contemplating turning into raised veg beds. Soil here is heavy clay like. Any ideas please. Summer is not too bad but in winter spring and late autumn softish.

If you have a flat area that holds water, there is likely to be a compacted layer blocking the drainage but this will slowly improve in time. But it is not suitable for a vegetable area.
You do not need raised beds to grow vegetables and while raised the level will lift it out of the wet soil, the poor drainage and heavy soil is not suitable for vegetables.
