melons in a polytunnel

Ruth Patterson asked 14 years ago

I have raised some melon plants. (‘Fast Break’ and ‘Charentais’) Should I treat them the same way as cucumbers, or do they need any special care

Melons can be grown up strings or left on the ground. They can be left to grow but usually they are trained to keep them tidy by pinching out the groing point. Two side shoots develop and these are trained on strings by winding them around. The side shoots from these shoots carry the fruits.
