Moss in lawn.

Tom McLaughlin asked 15 years ago

There are large patches of moss in my lawn that are resistant to ferrous sulphate. I have treated this moss each year with ferrous sulphate. The treatment has no effect and the moss keeps spreading. Have you any idea as to how I might get rid of it.

Perhaps you are not using enough and this sometimes just burns the tips of the moss and it survives. Increase the amount, testing this in a few areas.  There are no other products available to home gardeners and it will work in the correct amount.

Feed the grass with high-nitrogen lawn fertilizer to boost grass growth.
