I planted Acer palmatum about 3/4 weeks ago. All the leaves have gone dry and brown, have continued watering, should i give up or might it survive?

More than likely died back from drought, as it would not yet have rooted into the surrounding soil and was dependent on watering.
It might recover and produce new leaves in a couple of weeks. Water with 20 litres once a week.
