My dad’s apple and pear trees are not bearing any fruit this year. He is wondering if it is due to a frost that may have occured when he was away in April.

It is possibly due to frost although many apple and pear trees have set a crop, and the two crops flower at different times. It might be that the trees are in an ‘off-year’ due to heavy cropping last year.
