Why are some of the flowers on my Peony ‘Sarah Bernhardt’ going bad before the flower opens? Not all the flowers on the plant are like this, but some are.

This is due to frequent showers and can be followed by grey mould rot.
It happens to roses and daylilies too, especially double flowers.
A few sunny dry days will cure.
