phalaenopsis

rita dowling asked 15 years ago

this phalaenopsis has had this unusual growth for the past two years. Instead of the usual arching stems the flowers (56 of them) seem bunched up. The plant is quite healthy otherwise and was not like this when bought several years ago.

This pattern of growth is unusual, Since the plant once flowered normally, it is not a genetic change, but environmental.

It might be due to watering and perhaps shoot extension was affected, or it could be light conditions, or indeed it could be a chemical compound in the environment …
