Plant Identification

Martin Moloney asked 14 years ago
I recently started a gardening job in a CE scheme, as I have a keen interest in gardening, just before christmas a colleague came across a seed in a bowl of potpourri that had been there for some time, however he planted it and it has stared to grow, I never seen the seed but he said it was quite large, (like an almond) I found out that the dried fuit it came from was a rambutan but the past few weeks it has started to grow bigger and it is starting to look more like a hosta. Can you help with this?

Rambutan is a tropical fruit tree and the photo looks like hosta. Looks like a mixup.

The seed of hosta is very like onion seeds, small and black.
