Hi Gerry, I have a laurel hedge along the front wall of my house. Its 30ft long and planted two years. In the past week the leaves are turing, yellow..brown..black at the top of the plant working its way down through it. I dont think it is water logged as I have checked. I would be grateful for your opinion.

Usually when laurel exhibits these symptoms, it is a sign of waterlogging of the roots. This may not be immediately apparent so it is a good idea to dig a couple of holes about one metre away from the roots to see if there is a high water table.
If this is not the case, it is possible that the damage is being done by bacterial canker, but this normally affects only a few plants at random. There is no cure.
