Pruning a Laurel hedge

I planted a Laurel hedge last March, it has grown vigoursly, is now (mid October) a good time to start pruning it ?.

Any hedge can be pruned from the day it is planted, shaping it to the required size, removing shoots that pass by the desired size and shape.

So young shoots sticking out in the wrong direction can be removed as they arise, and the number of these will increase as the plants grow, until full-scale clipping is needed.
