When can I put cuttings from shrubbery that I want to put in a bank I have created? I have rooting powder.

Most cuttings do best in pots covered over with a white polythene bag. Take them in JUly / August.
Not all will root diriectly in the open soil, though some will, such as escallonia, hypericum and griselinia.
Try the latter in October.
