I have a wire fence in my back garden and two feet behind this is mixed hedge belonging to my neighbour. There is a lot of weeds, briars, bindweed etc in the space between the fence and the hedge. I am growing climbers on the fence for coverage and also have cats, so I’m looking for a weed killing idea which will hurt neither.

Roundup, or similar, containing glyphosate, is a relatively very safe weedkiller, the residue breaking down in soil. It does not affect animals but as an added precaution keep pets out until it dries.
