septic tank

For some reason my septic tank is slap bang in the middle of my back lawn. i’d like to hide it but not sure if i can plant directly over it. what do you think? a few Taxus Summergold maybe and a tall conifer?

You can plant anything you like near a septic tank, but not over the percolation area as trees roots can cause blockage in the drainage system. When planting near a septic tank,

Be careful to make the planting look like it is part of the over all gardendesign, or else it can just draw attention to the tank.

So the planting should look like an island bed, for instance.
