septic tank

Hello Gerry!I just have one question which is .i have a septic tank and on a windy day if walking along road you can get a slight bad odour . Is there any fragrance smelling plant which you could plant near or around safely? would lavander do or is there another easy maintenace plant you could suggest?

You should check the correct functioning of the tank first. Lavander and other shrubs, such as escallonia or thuja for a big area, can be planted near a tank but not the soakage area. But the wind blows tends to dissipate the gases and plants tend to reduce this. Also they do not give off enough scent, or at the riight time. In other words planting scented shubs will contribute little.
