spring bedding

Julie Pettit asked 14 years ago

I have planted polyanthus seeds today, is it too late for them, when should i have flowers? Also I would love cyclamen in pots for winter/spring. Are they seed or bulb and when would I plant them?

Normally sown in May or June for bedding purposes, it is a bit late for sowing polyanthus, as the plants will tend to be small next spring, but they will eventually flower as they are short-lived perennials.

Cyclamen can be raised from seeds sown in August to flower in 15 to 18 months time.
