Steep Slope

Brendan Kearns asked 11 years ago
I have a very steep slope down my lane/drive and currently have grass, but as the slope is about 80 degrees its hard to cut etc so I’m looking a solution which will provide me evergreen low maintenance, flowering would be a bonus. I have looked at many options but keen to hear your input.

It is a rural setting and the best solution would be to plant a few hawthorns or birch, averaging about 10 metres apart but randomised, and to simply use a brushcutter once a year in late summer or autumn, or more often if you like.

Planting with ground cover, such as heather or ivy, will not look natural and will require maintenance.
