A friend of mine has this strange plant in their garden and nobody knows what it is. They have brought a sample of the plant to a few garden centres and they were unable to identify the plant. I have attached a photo of the plant, I have also photos of the individual leaf and I can forward that on

This is a small shrub, called Ruscus hypoglossum, commonly known as ‘butcher’s broom’.
