We have a lot of fruit growing on our pear trees. Does this effect the quality of the pears and should we thin this out and if so when?

Some of these fruitlets will probably fall off between now and mid-July. If they are still in place at that stage, you can remove some to increase the size and quality of the remainder.

Leaving one fruit per 10-15 cm of branch average is a reasonable guide.
