Month: July 2008

This week the crocosmia lucifer is looking splendid in the sun. The lilies have also staggered to life. I have fed my hydrangea with sulphate of iron as they are looking very yellowy leaved!! I am hoping for lovely deep green leaves in a couple of weeks. At the same time we have trimmed (more hacked back) a euyonomous which was taking a lot of light from the hydrangea bed

Every May  we have a Badger calling and  it  makes a mess of the lawn. Fortunately it only" calls" for about two weeks. I believe it is foraging for Cockchafer larvae. Any suggestions or comments ?

Bought some lovely Dahlia plants at the Altamont Garden centre the other day. Just have to choose the best spot for them in the garden. Sadly the rains have come again so cant really get out to garden today 🙁
