Month: June 2013

As we all know, it’s easy to get a garden to look good in June – lots of flowering perennials and shrubs and the gaps can be filled with a few annuals, but how to maintain the display?

I’ve decided to photograph my garden month by month showing what looks good – flowering or stuctural or in pots – and then ruthlessly tackle the “also-rans”, you know, the plants that aren’t quite thriving or the colour is wrong or it’s swamping its neighbours or self-seeding promiscuously….  I always find that if you try to harmonise the colours it usually works out.

Will be putting some photos in my album here.

Happy gardening! Good to meet some members of garden.ie at Bloom – have posted lots of photos on  Jardin  on Facebook or on the website above

Got these a few weeks back – really like the pots and the plants themselves although they will have to be potted on shortly. Off to Bloom in the morning really looking forward to it – let’s hope the sun shines

Succulents from Aldi

Last year, a branch broke off my Dublin Bay rose so I decided to take a cutting and this is the result.  I’ve minded, and nursed this plant so it should look good!!!  I’m very lucky with taking rose cuttings.  Have quite a few from different places coming on nicely in my cold frame.
