Month: January 2014

is making me salivate for more of them!

I did say I wasnt going to Lidl today so that I wouldnt be tempted to buy any more but now, reading of everyone’s purchases, my resolve is weakening!

I will just have to be satisfied with this picture of some in the shrub border taken yesterday!

This has been lying unused in my moms for awhile now so the other day i decided to take it out and powerwash it down to bring home. Didn’t have a compost bin before so will be great to make some of my own. Just cuttings of plants and the likes going into it. Sometimes its just a simple thing like this makes a gardener happy well me anyway.

The rain was coming down in sheets this morning. Of course the heating didn’t come on so I had to go out in the rain to manually switch it. Then a little later I was out again to switch off the heating in the greenhouse. And then, doing a little potting I remembered that I’d left the polystyrene in the greenhouse so had to go out in the rain a third time!

Well it’s yucky and the last day of January. Good riddance, I say.

I’ve added a few photos to my January album but it’s mostly house plants.

Streptocarpus 'Harlequin Blue'

I’ve been meaning to post a journal about these work gloves for ages, that I was given by a friend.

The are serious work protection gear. The main point, is they are classed as ‘needle’ proof. What I found with them was that when cutting back brambles on the enbankment I can easily hold the bramble tightly as I cut etc and not hamd done.

They could well be worth the investment (don’t know cost, sorry), very tough so would be long last in garden use. Sadly only come in two sizes 9 & 10 (L & Ex. L).

For people who have wildish boundaries, I can recommend then highly.

Prenco Katz Glove En388

He also likes porridge oats and bread.

Not a fussy eater

Following on ClaireE’s idea of photographing the garden month by month, I have add this months album. I will be doing this at the end of each month, we all should have very interesting Albums by the years end.

Claire a great idea well done ;-))

After spotting the trays from Aldi in last Saturdays daily paper,i called upon them to have them ready for the morning in the greenhouse.Prepare them there, and back with them to the heat of the kitchen window.

Might start some tomato and aubergine seeds. As the trays were my main purchase,i wanted to get them into use as fast as possible.Up on 20 sowing areas in each one.

I  love looking back at photos of my garden .This one really stood out to me .I just got this feeling ,i would love to be sitting  on that seat, enjoying my garden, enjoying my beautiful countryside
