I have a new lawn that is coming to end of first year of cutting . Clover is spreading on the lawn. What should I do?Can you spray a weedkiller in the first year of lawn growth?I thought you could not.

Clover tends to populate lawns on fast-draining light soil, and lawns that have not been fed.

Generally clover does not become a problem for a year or two.

If you want to get rid of it, spray in May with a lawn weedkiller containing the active ingredient mecoprop.

And feed the lawn more with lawn fertilizer.
