I planted a globe artichoke this year - bought plant , two artichokes have grown biggest about size of tennis ball, other golf ball; conflicting advise on whether 1. to allow to grow and eat or, 2. cut off as soon as it appears or 3.let grow and go to seed - am i too late for 2 if that is correct advise; i want a good crop next year. the plant has one new plant (shoot) beside it about 1 1/2 foot long, 2 leaves and one very small shoot. please advise
