Christmas tree!

Anthony O\’Connor asked 16 years ago
Hi Gerry, I want to plant a Christmas Tree in the garden for my kids to put lights on at Christmas. Can you recommend a variety that will be slow growing as the garden is approx. 20′ x 20′. Is Abies Koreana suitable, I don’t want it to grow more than 12′ to 15′ in height.Would planting the tree in a pot in the ground prevent it from getting to big? Thanks.

The Korean fir would make a fine outdoor Christmas tree. It is slow-growing and can be pruned in any case. Plant it direclty in the soil.
