Can i move Heathers that have been planted 6 years, and when is the best time to move them.
Is it possible to move established conifer trees. I have a number of large conifers in my garden which are now blocking my beautiful view and I would like to relocate them in our garden. The trees are mature in that they have been planted for approx 8 years and are now in the region of 15 to 20 high. Do you know any companies in ireland that carry out successful tree repositioning. Any assistance would be appreciated. I do not just want to cut the trees down as a large house has been built adjacent to us and the trees can be used to screen this.

I received a 3 year old goji berry bush before Christmas. When the cold weather hit I took it into my kitchen. The plant seemed to get confused & thought it was spring as it started to grow leaves.I have kept it beside my kitchen window & I noticed that the leaves are looking a bit wilted. After close scrutiny I saw tiny pale brown spiders & what looked like a miniature whitish insect, something like a mealy bug or a woodlouse, I'm not sure if that's what it is but it looks a bit like it. There is no bug on the leaves or flowers it just seems to be crawling around in the soil. Could these be normal soil bugs & I'm just a bit over protective about my goji berry bush?I have recently bought a lot of plants from a very reputable garden centre online but unfortunately my last purchase, a forget-me-not tree arrived to me with a disease. These plants haven't been in touch with each other but could they have infected each other? How can I salvage my goji berry bush?
I have a weeping willow for the past five years and is doing well but because of the snow it toppled over and has become loose in the ground. I am now thinking of re-planting it in another part of the garden. When is the best time to transplant it and does it prefer shade or full sun? Also when it the best time to transplant a flowering cherry.

It's a tradition in our family to plant a tree for each child, and I want to choose one for my grandchild who has a strong tinge of red in her hair. When at a flower market in Ghent recently I was very taken by Fothergilla Major. I realise that it, like all the brightly coloured autumn trees, likes acid soil. I have never been aware of it here in Ireland - maybe I just haven't noticed, but it seems to be hardy enough (for a frost pocket in south Kilkenny ? - minus 7.5 ground tem. last night)Question: Is it hardy enough to survive here and if I plant it in ericacious soil and feed it seaweed etc. will it do well here? This child's mother (my child) is a Liquidamber and doing very well.
We've broken up an old tarmac tennis court but wonder if we can plant on top of the broken pieces ( once top soil has been added ). Will the underlying tarmac kill any plants?
