how to successsfully compost grass cuttings
I have alot of dandelions and daisies on my lawn, what can I do to treat this problem. On front section which is shaded by trees, the moss problem also seems to have gotten worse, is there anything I can do at this stage of year to treat?
Hi Gerry, I have a large lawn (1/2 acre). What is the most cost effective way to control weeds, in particular clover, on such a large area of grass ?
I have read your answer how to get rid of moss, but I have more questions. My garden had lots of trees around it but they have been cut down, so now i need to deal with the ever growing problem of moss:
1. Do i need to areate or scarify the lawn beforehand?
2. Is it a good time to scarify the lawn now or have i left it just that bit late?
Thanks for the advice,
Lorraine

I have a new lawn for two years now and it is quite good quality.
I would like to work on it over the next few years to try to get it to a standard wher I could use it as a putting green.
Am I wasting my time.
I applied Evergreen Weed and Feed to the lawn yesterday 8th April. The lawn is one year old, however there are numerous weeds and several bare patches, it is also very damp. Can I sow grass seed to the bare patches now or should I wait and see if the Evergreen improves things?
How do I drain the soil in my back garden it seems to hold on to the rain water, when you stand out on it you can hear the water in it. Also I cant get the grass to grow properly it is very patchie with moss and little weeds. My house and garden are only 5 yrs old when digging out for the decking I noticed it was full of stones etc. I am not very green fingered so am at a loss what to do
In recent years, I have noticed that moss is a much bigger problem. What is the best way to deal with it?
