Hit with Roundup now.2. Wait about 3 weeks, hit with roundup again.3. Hire a Rotavator4. Rake5. Had some topsoil6. Then re-seed
I'm wondering if you could tell me the best way to sow grass where there is a mulch/bark area. We moved into our house a year ago and the whole front is bark. We would prefer grass as we think it will look nicer and it would be more suitable for our child.
Can you recommend a good garden edging shears please. I have alot of garden to edge and cant seem to be able to buy a good one.
Lawn set last September 2009. Fed it with 4 seasons lawn feed from garden centre a week ago when weather was dry. Rain arrived and mowing will have to be put back until weather improves. Need to know for next feeding in about 8 weeks time I presume can feed be applied when the rain is falling or the grass is very wet.426 Thanks , PatriciaAlso how soon after mulching can feed be applied and how soon after feeding can mulching be carried out. Is it advisable to mulch continuously or should I cut and bag every now and then please?
I have quite a large area of 'wild' grass, that is of no other use than just being there and provide cover for whatever is looking for it. I know it should be cut only sparingly. When would that be: Now? (April was too wet and too cold for much growth) although now is pretty late perhaps, and again in October or so, or only in Oct., or only now?
I used Resolva lawn weedkiller already made up on my lawn a few weeks ago. To my horror I now have at least twenty large dead grass patches in my lawn. I have tried to reseed but none of the seed has germinated. Can you help? For about ten days after I applied the weedkiller the patches kept getting bigger and in fact some of them have merged. I have used weed and feed every year for probably about twenty years and have never had this problem.
I have just sown a new lawn. Grass is starting to grow. When should I cut and if there are patches there the seed has not taken should I re/over seed. Finally Is it ok to roll the garden as there are a number of stones etc I would like to roll in...
I am laying edging bricks around a section of my lawn. What is the correct level to set them for mowing later on. Level with about an inch of grass, level with soil or just below soil level.
I have never seen so many Dandelions in my garden what is the best way to control them, I have a very large area to cover.
I just dug the garden last week turned soil etc and put grass seed down, few stones etc still in the soil can u give me some tips for a new lawn and would sand be any good to put down mixed with the soil? Does the grass seed need to be buried or is it ok exposed on top?
I think i should use type 3 lawnseed on my re rotavated lawn,as type 2 has failed twice. Have good top soil, well drained and good sunlight, but need stronger seed.Do you supply this lawnseed and where can i pick it up.
I recently bought packets of lawn repair kits (with 'family grass' seeds and fertiliser) in an attempt to restore my lawn. I have mown the existing grass close to the ground and raked off most of the thatch and moss. Some areas have more moss than others. The past warm sunny spells certainly helped, but now I'm wondering: can I spread the restorer seeds now, or should I apply moss killer first for best results?
I have been away for a long weekend and on return find dozens of holes that you can see in the photos all over my lawn! I can see what appear to be Bees or Wasps coming out of them. I have never heard of or seen this before and Google doesnt have any info on it happening in Ireland, except something called ground digger wasps (Cicada Killer) which thankfully seems to be native to North America or have they arrived in Dublin? Can your experts advise as my wife is freaking out.
Could you please tell me what amount of sulphate of Iron I use to what amount of water? I have read that you can put it on the lawn but I cannot find what ratio, I would be really happy if you could help me.
