We moved into our house 5 years ago, there are 2 large probably 60-70 foot scots pines at the bottom of our back garden, although I like the trees they are blocking a lot of the sunshine from getting into our garden(west/south facing), we would like to get the trees topped. We have contacted 3 tree surgeons all gave us conflicting advice, firstly dont top as the trees will die, secondly that you cannot top until autumn as the sap levels are too high in the trees and thirdly the trees can be topped now with no side effects, which of these is correct?

Can I move it to the new border or wait until later?

My four Cordyline Trees, despite their not unattractive appearance, are 15 foot high and a maintenance burden with their constant shedding of numerous long leaves and seperate flowering panicles attracting hosts of starlings with resultant nuisance. Can they be coppiced or shortened to half their height, if so would they survive or should I remove them permanently.
My garden is overcrowded with shrubs, some have grown 4ft wide and 6 foot high. What tool should I use for a quick result and what do you recommend I do with the piles of debris that I will acquire from this job.Maybe there is a gardening service that undertake these jobs at a good price?I really have a large garden and would love to get it looking well, these shrubs are really taking away from it as I cannot plant flowers because every edge of the garden has a tree or an old shrub in it.
